If you tell people they are simply stupid you are being unfair if it's hard to understand. Einstein knew that 99.9% of people won't understand his theories so treating them as idiots isn't a good idea. Just because most people can't do complex physics doesn't mean they are stupid they are just different in the way a fish is different to a monkey, The monkey can't breathe under water not because it is stupid either but because it is different from the fish.
